COUSINS,
a response to our Hill Cousin reunion came from a young lady in Abiline, TX. She is a Hill decendent from Charles Hill, a brother of Roy, Walt, Jess, and Bert.
Charles died young in Oklahoma, leaving a wife and two small girls. Anyway, his great granddaughter, Ashley Mann, has compiled a huge data base on the Hill family geneology and would like to contribute her info to our reunion. My goal is to bring the Lewis Calvin Hill Family up to date, as well as Roy and Walt. Nelle Marie Christensen is working on her family which comes from Roy and Walt's sister Florence. A few of you might remember a BIG birthday party they had for Florence's 90th in Talent in 1998.
So, I'll be calling a few of you for the birthdates of your grandkids, and other nosey questions. It's been fun getting the younger ones accounted for. Our grandparents would be amazed at how many we have now. And looking at Ashley's huge data base, there are many families that are much larger than ours.
Love Sue

Hey All
ReplyDeleteI have done a lot of work on the Hill line by cheating with ancestry.com. If anyone would like to see what is there send me an email nonasbusiness@gmail.com. Put in the subject line "Hill Ancestry" so I will know that it isn't junk. I am trying to get as much info documented as possible which is one of the reasons I use this website - it does a lot of the searching for me. My goal is to get the Hill line out of the US. We seem to be stopped with Richard Henry Hill 1828-1895. I did find a possible father/mother - him being born in Alabama 1776-1828 and her being Margaret Keller born 1775 in Tennessee and died in 1831, but I'm not sure yet of this information. If anyone has better info please let me know.
We aren't sure if we'll be able to come, but I requested the time off just in case. What other second generation cousins are trying to get there?
Love Nona
hello hello from ABILENE !!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletei love this. im so excited. thanks NONA & HOLLY for telling me about it :-)
FYI --- as of last weekend i have a smidge over 1500 people on my HILL family tree. and surprising enough -- of the 4 branches i research .. this one is the smallest. anyhow -- yes im franctically trying to gather up everyones research into one big mass family tree dumping ground on my computer so i can sent all the info out before the reunion .. that i can't come to. (its killing me. i want to come sooo bad) I, like, NONA .. have gathered gobs and gobs of info from ancestry.com -- no i have figured out who Richard Henry's father is yet. but i decided to find all of his descendants first before i go backwards ...
i think the weekend of the reunion -- if someone will just have a laptop there and get on facebook ... i'll just attend "online" --- thats better than nothing.
and i have tons of headstone photos on my facebook too (richard henry and wiley henderson !!) very proud of my online cemetery searching --- www.findagrave.com is awesome !!
i have found several HILL folk in oklahoma on Ueal Hill lineage too. nice people.
anyway -- just wanted to pop in and say hi before i headed to work :-)
ashley meredith smith mann
4th gr granddaughter of Richard Henry HILL
ps --- one of the other things im working on is collecting headstones photos of the deceased HILL family. to do this i need to know the cemetery name and city, state where people were buried. so if ya know any of that --- shoot me an email ashleysfamilytree@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteor get on FACEBOOK --- i have entire profile dedicated to just my family tree relatives. you can find me by searching my email address on there. i have tons of photos on there too as well as some document copies and simple outlines of the HILL descendants -- and relationship charts of how you are related to me. i also have a group set up so everyone can see the other HILL people i have found and can communicated "blogstyle'ish"
